For December’s Featured Wellness business, I’ve selected Hudavi Wellness Spa, located at 5550 E. 7th Street in Long Beach. The reason (at least initially) for choosing Hudavi was the most unexpected reason imaginable: they supply Kangen water.
If you know anything about alkaline water in general, or Kangen water (a water ionizer), specifically, then, like me, you will be delighted to know about a wellness center that has taken this small detail (optimal pH in drinking water) into consideration and sought to supply it as a service to their members.
Benefits of alkaline water are disputed and there still needs to be more longitudinal studies to be done, but speaking from experience, I am a fan of alkaline water. I just felt so much better after switching to it for several weeks.
Thus far the reported benefits include aiding: acid reflux, high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. When I first learned about it years ago it was because people were testifying how alkaline water helped them during their cancer recovery.
If alkaline water is something you’re interested in trying, talk to your physician and see if it’s right for you.
The inclusion of alkaline water in their menu of offerings shows broad holistic thinking, really thinking outside the box, because, while it is routine to receive a service that caters to the external body when visiting a health spa, how often does a business take into consideration what you’re putting into your body (apart from the obligatory cucumber water)?
You can see this kind of pervasive holistic thoughtfulness in the inclusion of not only a naturopath, but chiropractors, and registered nurses in their roster of holistic practitioners.
You can also schedule an appointment with a practitioner of Ayurveda and acupuncture, or with a personal fitness instructor for when you are serious about getting (back) into shape the smart way.
It’s clear that Hudavi Wellness Spa really stands by the holistic promise to care for the whole person.
